Devonport Food and Wine Festival 2015 will boast 50+ events that showcase Tasmanian food innovation. This month long festival is now in its sixth year, and highlights the outstanding quality produce and food artisans Tassie’s North West has on offer. Punters can take their pick from over 50 events this year during March. Some of the must do events and dishes are one off dinners with Fresh Tassie Seafood, Salt and Seafood on a tall ship. Enjoy the coasts laid back charm at a festival, a farm gate Butter and Milk Market, Petuna Factory tour and tastings or a Southern American Food festival with Live Music from Brian Richie (Violent Femmes). Authentic Middle Eastern Cuisine and Entertainment at Mansours, Game on a Plate at Saxons and an Engogastronomica at Laneway. The festival kicks off on 28 February with concert in the vines at Ghost Rock Vineyard with rock legend Joe Camilleri & The Black Sorrows along with Vika & Linda Bull.
A festival highlight is the Taste the Harvest on Saturday 7 March & Sunday 8 March at Roundhouse Park. Enjoy food, wine, entertainment and the inspirational backdrop views of the Mersey River and the lush rolling hills of Devonport’s farmlands. This year join us in the producer’s marquee, where we will be highlighting some of our thriving producer’s stories of Paddock to Plate. Sit back and soak up the tunes with a cool climate wine and Melbourne indie rock band The Elliot’s band and the much loved local Sun Kings.
