The NYD carnival has a strong and historic sense of community to the region with attendances varying from 3,000 – 5,000 in any year.
The core purpose of community events such as this should be to inspire the wider population to become active and adopt healthy lifestyle choices through either organized sports or personal pursuits that instill fitness and well-being.
