Virtuosi Tasmania is celebrating 25 years of presenting fine chamber music performed by musicians drawn from the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, Tasmanian locals, and professional musicians from the mainland. Presenting over sixteen concerts a year in unusual and interesting locations throughout Tasmania, ensembles have played in stately heritage homes, shearing sheds, apple sheds, limestone caves, art galleries and vineyards. To acknowledge 25 years of fine concerts in fine locations, Virtuosi Tasmania will be bringing Stravinsky’s “A Soldier’s Tale” during the first two weekends of September, to four special venues around the state, including Burnie Arts Centre, City Baptist Church, Launceston, Home Hill Winery and the Organ Room at MONA. The narration and parts of the devil and the soldier will be performed by Ryk Goddard, from ABC Local Radio breakfast show, in an English translation of the libretto, by Jeremy Sams.
